Monkeynut / Dominion

The Underground Ohio Nu-Metal Legacy (1992–2005)

Biography

Dominion was born in 1992 in Columbus, Ohio. They released a demo tape and the album Into The Negative before changing their name in 1998 to Monkeynut due to trademark conflicts. Monkeynut released multiple albums and an EP between 1999–2005, gaining a local underground following with their aggressive nu-metal style, black-light theatrics, and energetic live shows.

The lineup featured Randy Leitwein (vocals), Brian Leitwein (guitar), Mark Lancia (bass), and Alan Weiss (drums). They disbanded in 2005 after a farewell show at Newport Music Hall, where they released a DVD titled All Good Things...
